The Xtreme Failure
Several automotive enthusiasts and car lovers expressed disappointment over the recent TXN (The Xtreme Nights) Car Show. It was held on 7th and 8th December at the Bukit Jalil Stadium.
Among the complaints were the lack of sufficient lighting for the show, which was held outdoors at night. Exhibitors and contestants were expected to fork out hefty rental fees for equipment which, in some cases, were insufficient. They were not allowed to bring in their own equipment.
The list of grouses was long. The most ridiculous foul-up by the TXN organisers was the label on one of the trophies that read "BEST CAR CULB" (note the mispelling).
TXN management obviously did not learn from last year's mistakes, and went even further to create a mess of the entire event.
"The hottest lifestyle auto show of the year" is clearly an over-rated slogan. I'm surprised no one has filed a lawsuit against the organisers for false advertising. Unless they meant that the ambient temperature was expected to be high seeing no shade or cooling systems were included; not forgetting the feverish anger expressed by the exhibitors as well as visitors who felt severely short-changed.
With the kind of negative responses from exhibitor and public over TXN, it's unlikely they will be able to make a comeback next year; expect lots of boycotts. Malaysians aren't a very patient lot and we don't take crap from anyone.
