Youth: Hindraf playing extremist politics
PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth regrets the statement by the Hindu Rights Action Force which described Umno as its enemy.
Its treasurer Datuk Abdul Hamid Nazahar said the statement showed that the organisation was playing extremist politics.
He said Hindraf should be rejected and hated by all for the sake of peace and prosperity of the country.
"Umno Youth will prove that the struggle undertaken by Hindraf is not only rejected by Malays but also other communities," he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the wing's secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said Umno Youth was launching a signature campaign and get the "silent majority" to speak out against street demonstration or any activity that would disrupt peace and stability.
He said it was time for the people to make their stand through the campaign to protect unity, peace and development and at the same time reject incite hatred, violence and chaos.
He said the wing, in collaboration with various non-governmental organisations regardless of their beliefs and religion, would collect as many signatures as possible.
The signatures would be handed over to the nation's leaders.
